Lennox Basic Limited Warranty
This voluntary manufacturer’s warranty comes with your HVAC or other Lennox appliance. You don’t even have to register for it. However, the terms and coverage vary from product to product, so you’ll have to verify what’s covered for your specific unit.
For example, the Lennox Elite® Series has 5 years of coverage on covered components and 10 years on the compressor, along with a 20-year or limited lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger, depending on which model you own. In comparison, the Lennox Merit® Series only covers 5 years on both covered components and the compressor, with 20 years on the heat exchanger.
Lennox Extended Limited Warranty Coverages
In some cases, you may be able to extend the Basic Limited Warranty in two ways at no additional cost. However, you must register for this coverage within 60 days of installation, except for those in jurisdictions that prohibit registration requirements for warranties.
Eligible Merit and Elite Series products allow homeowners to choose between a default 5-year parts-only extension to receive 10 years of parts-only coverage or 3 years of labor coverage and 2 years of parts coverage. This is in addition to the default 5-year basic warranty, resulting in 3 years of labor coverage and 5 years of coverage for parts.
Certain eligible Dave Lennox Signature Collection units can receive a 2-year parts-only extension or 3 years of labor coverage. The former provides a total of 12 years of parts-only warranty coverage, while the latter offers 10 years of parts coverage and 3 years of labor coverage.
Additional Coverage Options
Lennox also offers extended labor coverage options. Its Comfort Shield program provides extra coverage beyond the standard manufacturer’s limited warranty. This program allows homeowners to extend or enhance labor coverage to 3, 5, 7, 10, or 12 years while offering extended accessory coverage for parts if desired.
However, these plans are offered by participating independent third-party dealers rather than purchased specifically through Lennox. Under one of these programs, you’ll have no deductibles or cancellation fees and pay an average of pennies per day for coverage, but the exact amount depends on the product and length of plan you’ve chosen.
